Missionary of the Week - Carmen Owen, serving with Multiply. From her base in Wichita, Kansas, she is serving as the Naomi House business and Ministry Liaison. She works with Siriwan and Wichian Trakunhan, the national partners in Thailand. The Naomi House is a community church and small business center serving refugee women in an unreached district of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The women at the Naomi House produce beautiful textile and leather products. Their products are sold locally and in the United States and Canada. There is a need for more sewing machines and teachers. There is also a need for a larger facility to work and worship. Pray for Siriwan and Wichian to reach and disciple new believers in their district. Also, pray for Carmen that God would provide individuals to join her virtual volunteer team to assist in the business and ministry from a distance. And that God will grow His church in are trying to reach the Issan people, which have the lowest number of Christians and Christian churches in Thailand. During their Christmas outreach events in a village, 13 children came to the Saturday Kid’s Club. Most of them came back on Sunday mornings and now their church has a Sunday morning worship service for children. Moe, an intern at the church, has taken over the responsibility for teaching the children on Sunday mornings. In February Ingrid, Moe, and two teens from their church traveled to a Women’s Retreat in Central Thailand. Five women were baptized, including Taeng, one of the teens from their church. Also, in February, Edd and Ingrid took twelve children to the Khon Kaen Zoo, a two hour drive from their residence. It was a time to build relationships with the children and to teach them about the wonders of God’s creative ability. Pray for more follow-up visits from their outreach activities. They thank your for your support and prayers.
