| Prayer Line for August 16-18, 2024 "In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God." ~John 1:1 Pray for the family of Liz Oliver. Liz passed away on August 8th. A memorial service will be held at Palm Village on September 7th at 10am. Pray for the family of Abner Penner. Abner passed away on Sunday, July 28th. His service will be Monday, August 19. Graveside at 9am at the Reedley Cemetery, Memorial at 10am at Palm Village Chapel. Please be in prayer for Ron and Betty Reimer. Ron suffered a stroke and is in a rehabilitation facility in Spokane Washington. Pray for complete recovery and for God's peace to be with them. Pray for Lorie George who will be having back surgery on August 21st. Pray that she will be able to tolerate the pain medication. Pray for Julia Choy who has been dealing with lots of pain and recently diagnosed with severe back problems. Julia will see a spine specialist on August 22nd. Our Missionary of the Week is Serve Reedley (819 West Parlier Avenue in Reedley.) Maribel Herrera is the Program Director of this ministry that connects people, resources, and training opportunities to under-resourced communities. There are three parts in this ministry. (1) The Community Resource Network has software that will connect skilled volunteers in their database to be matched to an individual or families with needs. The network has received diverse requests such as grocery shopping, housing assistance, and minor household repairs. (2) The Faith House ministry provides transitional housing. Counseling services, aid in securing employment, and addressing individual’s spiritual well being are fundamental commitments at the Faith House. (3) The youth outreach ministry is serving students. Many students have accepted Christ as their Lord and savior, some have been baptized, and many have gone through the discipleship program. Pray for an abundance of volunteers to join the Community Resource Network in order to help more families and pray for this ministry to reach more families and students with the Gospel.
