Prayer Line for April 8, 2020
Prayer Line for April 8, 2020
"I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry." - Psalm 40:1
During this Passion Week, we encourage you to follow the daily events in scripture and reflect on what Jesus has done for us, especially in these last days before the crucifixion and His resurrection.
- Today's events: Wednesday is traditionally known as the day of silence or patient waiting. There is nothing recorded in the gospels for this day. Tradition would say, this is the day that Judas and the Jewish religious leaders (Pharisees and Sadducees) first conspired to delivery Jesus up for arrest. We are in a time in history in which patience is not only a virtue, it's a necessity. We encourage you to wait on the Lord today in prayer, and to reflect on Psalm 40.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
We will host our Tenebrae Good Friday service on Friday, April 10, at 7 pm. This will be ONLINE ONLY and on all three of our live platforms (Website, Facebook, and YouTube) We are encouraging communion in your home with your family as we share about it in the service. So please have elements of bread and juice available if you'd like to join us.
Praying For Our People
- Pray for Julianne, daughter of Ron and Betty Reimer. Julianne has a fast growing and highly invasive cancer and is scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy on Thursday at 7:30 am in San Francisco. With coronavirus, her husband is not allowed into the hospital with her, nor will visitors be allowed afterward. Chemo treatments will begin immediately after. Pray for a successful surgery, full recovery, and protection from other infections or complications.
- Pray for Kathy Woelper as she is in the hospital. Pray for her healing.
- Pray for Bill Braun as he begins cancer treatments. Pray that the treatment would be effective and that God would provide strength for both Carol and Bill.
- Pray for our saints who are in our nursing homes. They cannot have visitors during this time. Please consider reaching out to them by phone or writing them a note of encouragement.
Praying for our Nation and World
- Pray that our nation's leaders would honor God and acknowledge Him as the One and only True God. Pray that our leaders ask for God to give them wisdom, guidance, direction, and protection.
- Pray for those being affected by the coronavirus, countries under quarantine, and the families of those who have lost their lives. Pray for those that work in the medical field as they work long hours while trying to stay healthy.
- Pray for wisdom and insight for our RMBC leaders as they make decisions that affect our church ministries. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give us new ways to share the Gospel.
- Pray for brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering under persecution. Pray for Burkina Faso and those Christians being targeted for death. Pray for Christians in China as well who are being silenced and persecuted for their faith. Pray for courage and strength from the Lord, and for the opportunity to be lights for Jesus.
Praying for Our Ministries
- Missionaries of the Week: Michael Thompson serving with Multiply as a Mission Catalyst for the Western US. Pray for Michael as he works to establish leadership development programs, and for the future of the SOAR program.
